Welcome to Assam Society of America (ASA) “Axom Sangha”, the oldest organization of Assamese outside India. Axom Sangha was formed in 1973 to keep the cultural and community ties to “Aai Axom” and has memberships from across the globe. Axom Sangha has sponsored various projects in Assam and takes lead in organizing annual get together of people of Assamese origin and their well wishers in different parts of the American Continent. It publishes monthly newsletter “Posoowa”, which reaches 10,000 people across the globe through electronic mail and also in the print format. The volunteer editorial board has done an excellent job in bringing out this high quality newsletter every month. We also publish annual issue “Axomi” during its annual get together.

We are proud of our heritage and would like to work for development our mother ‘Axom’. In addition to that we are also trying keep in touch with our culture with the second and third generation Assamese outside Assam. We are thankful to the contribution to the well-wishers in keeping the tradition and like to request for help for future endeavors.
